You will be able to ask all of your questions about the procedure, recovery and expected results. All consultations are quite extensive and comprehensive so please plan your time accordingly. After you have chosen to undergo the procedure, Dr. Honrado recommends a second visit a week or two before the date to ensure that you are completely comfortable with all aspects of the surgery. During this visit, any further questions can be answered. You will also be given prescriptions as well as post operative instructions to help maximize your healing process. Patient Concierge Services Dr. Honrado and his staff offer a number of personalized services to make your experience with us as comfortable as possible, from managing appointments through your recovery period. These services are available to both local patients and those traveling from out-of-town. Whatever you may need, every detail is taken care of so you can focus on your recovery and yourself.
If you are travelling from out of the area and arriving by air or by train, we will help you make arrangements for your transportation and recommend nearby hotels for your stay if you so desire.
After your surgery, there are a number of aftercare facilities that are available for you or you may choose to recover at home if you live in the area with a relative, friend or skilled nurse. However, if you live more than an hour away, it is recommended that you stay in one of the Halfway Houses which are located in nearby hotels with 24 hour skilled nursing care provided by qualified, knowledgeable, and caring nursing staff. We have found that if you live a great distance away, this local arrangement is safer and appreciated by our patients. All of these situations are available and utilized for all of our patients.
Halfway Houses are private institutions which are open only to plastic surgery patients. The staff is very discreet about their clientele, assuring that your stay will be private and restful. Specially prepared foods and meals required by the plastic surgery patient, are provided in their supervised setting. Any medications required are also dispensed by the nursing staff in a prompt and courteous manner. All transportation will be provided by the halfway house from the surgical facility following your surgery and for required office visits during your stay.
Your recovery is considered an important part of your plastic surgery. A safe, pleasant, and non stressful recovery is imperative for you to achieve your plastic surgical goal. It is also important that you take sufficient time off your employment or social schedule to allow healing to take place. In addition for our out of state patients, we recommend that you stay in town for at least 7 to 10 days so that we can provide the initial wound inspection and care and assure you, that healing has begun.
