My Credentials

Carlo P. Honrado, M.D., F.A.C.S.

I was born and raised in New York City, and I earned my undergraduate degree from the renowned Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland. I went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a medical degree from the State University of New York, Health Science Center in Brooklyn, and followed that with two years of General Surgery at the St. Vincent’s Medical Center and at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. I continued with specialized training in a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital-University Hospitals of Columbia and Cornell. I was soon accepted to one of the most prestigious fellowships in the country – the University of Washington in Seattle, sponsored by the widely respected American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

I am double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and by the American Board of Otolaryngology serving the specialty of Head & Neck Surgery. I am a Fellow Member of the American College of Surgeons.

Over many years of practice, I have published over 20 articles and book chapters, and I am a frequent speaker on cosmetic plastic surgery both nationally and internationally.

I serve on multiple committees for the Academy and contribute my expertise to a number of training and screening regimens, including helping to craft the demanding questions for the written examination sponsored by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

I am a recent recipient of the 2008 Faculty Teaching Award in the Department of Otolaryngology at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
